This continuing education course is designed for individuals who have prior healthcare training and/or are licensed/certified in a healthcare field and/or are currently working in the healthcare industry. The course provides individuals with an understanding of the responsibilities associated with those of an Administrative Medical Assistant. Individuals will develop basic skills in the areas of medical terminology, medical correspondence, patient scheduling, patient intake, patient education, insurance verification, medical records, HIPPA, OSHA, medical law and ethics, EMR, HIM, and coding. In addition, the course promotes communication skills, legal and ethical considerations, safety measures, and emergency response. Upon successful completion of this course, a Certificate of Completion will be issued.

Upon successful completion of this course, individuals will have the opportunity to apply for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam to become a Certified Administrative Medical Assistant. Taylor College is a testing site for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Individuals who submit their application and testing fee to NHA can take the Administrative Medical Assistant certification exam at the College.
